Have you seen our Masters Coach on 2 wheels?

Dear Parents, Swimmers and Supporters

As many of you know we are raising funds to build our own pool, the reasons for this are very simple, without our own facility we cannot expand, we cannot become a truly community club, we cannot control the times our swimmers train and finally without a new facility we fear for the long-term future of the club.

My main contribution to this fund-raising effort was to cycle from:

London to Brighton on Sunday, 15th September 2019 – 55 Miles!

I completed this in 4 hrs 8mins & 2secs (Strava).  I am extremely pleased with this as part way through my training it was confirmed that I had cancer of the bladder, I was aiming to go under 4 hours – but with this and my ‘Ride Buddy’ picking up an injury a week before the ride – we were slowed down a touch – such is life.

To date £3544 + Gift Aid of £764.25; a Grand Total of £4308.25. has been donated by 103 individuals these include Past Members (some of whom I coached over 20+ years ago), Current Members, Family, Friends & Colleagues so many thanks to all that have supported this very worthy cause, it is not too late to donate; please goto:

You may ask yourself how will this benefit you/your children, the answer to this is very simple, many of our younger members’ parents were once members of the club;  many of our Masters Squad swam with the club and were coached by me as youngsters. Therefore this project is not just for ‘The Now’ it is for ‘Future Generations of Nomads.’  Many thanks in anticipation of your help.

More information can be found out from the clubs’ FB page, Fareham Nomads Members FaceBook Page

I would like to thank Mark Mortimore for the ongoing support and servicing of my Bike, The Masters Squad for the Garmin Edge 130 that helped me keep track of my training, Lisa Mortimore, Caroline McCulloch and Mark Franklin for being ‘Training Buddies.’  A Myriad of others that not only donated but gave much encouragement during the past 6 months, especially once it was confirmed I had contracted Cancer of the Bladder.  Please Read and Share my Blog with family, friends, colleagues:

As BREXIT is fast approaching it seems fitting to close this fundraising page on the 31st of October 2019.
